MOQ and Sampling for Custom Emblems: A Practical Timeline

How MOQ, free mockups, and physical samples fit together before a bulk emblem order — and what to approve in writing.

Importers lose weeks when mockup, sample, and bulk are treated as one email. Split them. Each step has a different cost and a different approval.

Key takeaways

  • DXNTOPS custom car emblem programs start from 100 pieces per design.
  • A free visual mockup usually follows within 24 hours of usable vector art; a physical sample takes about 5–7 days; bulk takes about 2–3 weeks after sample approval.
  • Approve size, relief, color, mounting, and adhesive on the sample — the bulk PO should match the sample, not an earlier PDF.
  • Sample cost, tooling, and deposit are confirmed on the quotation before production.

What is the typical DXNTOPS timeline?

StepWhat you getUsual timing
RFQMOQ, lead time, finish notesWithin one business day
MockupVisual or 3D review of your artOften within 24 hours, no charge
SamplePhysical piece to sign offAbout 5–7 days after art approval
BulkProduction runAbout 2–3 weeks after sample approval, depending on finish

MOQ for most programs is from 100 pieces per design. Volume pricing comes after the sample is approved, not before anyone has seen metal.

What the sample is for

Approve size, relief, color, mounting, and adhesive — not only “it looks like the logo.” Photograph the sample on the real substrate if you can (grille, panel, appliance). Note gaps in writing so the bulk PO matches the sample, not an earlier PDF.

Complex plating or illuminated builds can move the calendar. Say so up front. Guide: illuminated emblems.

Payment and tooling (high level)

Sample cost, tooling (if any), and deposit depend on finish. We confirm them on the quotation before production. Do not assume a retail “no minimum” model — that is a different business from factory OEM. If you need that model, say the real annual quantity anyway; it changes the process.

Checklist before you approve bulk

  • Vector art is final (file guide).
  • Finish name matches the sample (bright, satin, paint codes).
  • Quantity, destination, and packing are on the PO.
  • You know who signs off if you are not the only buyer.

Request a quote with quantity and destination country. We will not ask you to skip the sample on a new exterior badge.
